A guide to Brooklyn—by bands, for everyone

In 2019, I changed my life when I launched Bands do BK, a blog dedicated to showcasing the faces and places of the NYC music scene.

Over the years, I’ve had the most incredible time interviewing and working with artists around the city (and the world!) as BdBK has expanded into many different formats—online and IRL—including a newsletter, a radio program and live shows and festival showcases.

Plus, perhaps most significantly, a book.

Bands do BK (Lit Riot Press, 2022) is a time capsule that’s equal parts oral history, guidebook and music-fan memoir. A product of endless nights, countless conversations and so, so, so many shows.

The BdBK book is out and available now! Grab a copy to explore Brooklyn from the unique perspective of the bands who live it and love it with behind-the-scenes stories, sound bites and recs from hundreds of NYC artists—a hot slice of NYC indie chronicling the brilliant people and places that define it.
